Our sources reveal that, Aamir Khan has signed his next film with Farhan Akhtar. The film will be directed by Reema Kagti of HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT LTD fame and will be produced by Excel Entertainment, which is owned by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Aamir’s move has come as a surprise as many in the industry were hoping that he might do a film with Aditya Chopra, Rajkumar Santoshi or Karan Johar. But, Aamir has finally preferred to do Reema Kagti’s film instead. It’s also learnt that the said film will be a suspense drama and the shooting of the film will start by February 2011. Last time Aamir, Farhan and Ritesh created a film together, (DIL CHAHTA HAI) which became a cult film for gen next Indians. An elated Aamir Khan says, “I found this script written by Reema and Zoya really exciting and I am looking forward to working with Ritesh and Farhan once again.” Says Farhan Akhtar, ‘It feels great to be collaborating with Aamir a decade after DIL CHAHTA HAI. We had been hoping do a film together since then and I’m thrilled that it is finally happening with this script.’ Adds Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘I have been waiting to work with Aamir since DIL CHAHTA HAI and it’s finally happening. It’s special this time as we are also producing it together, can’t wait to start filming!’ Well, with Aamir signing his next film after a gap of 10 months and given his reputation, all we can say is that the work on the next blockbuster has just got underway.
